Cold and dry weather to continue across Pakistan, heavy chill in hilly areas

Pakistan will experience cold and dry weather over the next 24 hours, with severe chill in hilly regions.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast cold and dry weather across most parts of the country over the next 24 hours, with severe cold expected in hilly regions.
According to PMD, Punjab, upper Sindh, and the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are likely to experience moderate to dense fog. In the Potohar region and Kashmir, some areas may see patchy mist during early morning hours.
Today, most parts of the country remained cold and dry, while hilly regions such as Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and adjoining areas saw partly cloudy skies with light rain or snowfall in some locations.
Minimum temperatures recorded include Skardu at -13°C, Leh and Astore at -11°C, Gupis at -9°C, Gilgit at -8°C, Quetta at -6°C, Kalam at -6°C, Hunza at -5°C, and Parachinar at -4°C.
In major cities, the minimum temperatures were Islamabad 0°C, Quetta -1°C, Murree -1°C, Lahore 2°C, Karachi 8°C, Sukkur 3°C, Mithi 0°C, Peshawar 1°C, and Muzaffarabad 1°C.
Citizens are advised to stay warm, especially in hilly areas, and to remain cautious while driving in fog-affected regions.
