RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Army and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Presidential Guards successfully concluded a two-week joint counter-terrorism exercise, Jalmood-I, at Tarbela.

The training aimed to strengthen the tactical coordination and operational readiness of both forces in complex combat environments, according to Pakistani military’s media wing.

The exercise featured specialised hostage rescue operations and counter-terrorism drills, bringing together elite troops from Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) and the UAE Presidential Guards. It focused on improving interoperability, precision, and joint response strategies in scenarios involving terrorist threats and hostage situations, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Tuesday.

The intensive two-week training involved practical demonstrations, simulated urban combat missions, and hostage extraction techniques. Both sides shared field expertise and operational tactics designed to enhance coordination during high-risk missions. The exercise served as a platform for exchanging knowledge on modern warfare tactics and developing a shared understanding of counter-terror operations.

The closing ceremony was attended by the General Officer Commanding the SSG as the chief guest, alongside senior UAE military officials and diplomats. Participants commended the professionalism and dedication displayed by the troops during the exercise, which reflected the growing depth of defence cooperation between the two nations.

Exercise Jalmood-I marked another milestone in the ongoing military collaboration between Pakistan and the UAE. Both countries have maintained strong defence relations over the years, regularly engaging in joint training programmes and strategic exchanges aimed at promoting regional security and stability.
