PESHAWAR (Zeeshan Kakakhil) – The Internal Accountability Committee, formed to promote good governance and curb corruption in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has become inactive.

According to sources, the committee was established last year on the directives of PTI founder Imran Khan and comprised three members. It was tasked with maintaining checks and balances on cabinet members and provincial ministers. However, after 15 months, the committee has ceased functioning.

Sources said the committee included Shah Farman, Musaddiq Abbasi, and Advocate Qazi Anwar, and was formed during the tenure of then–Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

The committee had the authority to seek explanations from any department’s minister at any time, but following the withdrawal of its members, it can no longer continue its operations.

Committee member Advocate Qazi Anwar confirmed that no new instructions have been received regarding its continuation. He added that Musaddiq Abbasi has gone to his village, leaving the committee effectively inactive for now.
