ISLAMABAD (Dunya News): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday expelled Senator Saifullah Abro from the party for violating the party discipline by voting in favour of the 27th Constitutional Amendment,

PTI leader Firdous Shamim announced that Senator Saifullah’s party membership has been terminated with immediate effect for violating party discipline. The Election Commission will be informed that his Senate seat is now vacant.

According to the official party notification, Senator Saifullah has been given 72 hours to appeal the decision. The party stated that the action was taken to uphold organizational discipline and the protection of democratic principles.

It should be noted that during a recent Senate session, PTI Senator Saifullah Abro said that the Pakistan Army defeated India, and Field Marshal Asim Munir has earned global respect. I cast my vote because of the Pakistan Army and Field Marshal Asim Munir.

Senator Saifullah Abro had voted in favour of the 27th Constitutional Amendment, going against the PTI’s official party stance. He also announced his resignation from his seat during the session, saying, “I resign from my seat today; you may de-notify me.”

Saifullah Abro was elected to the Senate from Sindh on a PTI ticket in 2021, and his term was due to continue until March 2027.
