ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar has said there is no ambiguity about the May 9 attack on Radio Pakistan as everyone witnessed the arson and chaos.

In a statement issued from the federal capital, Atta Tarar said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohaib Afridi should understand that mere political statements will not suffice — he bears the responsibility of an entire province.

He added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, with great generosity, told Sohaib Afridi that the federal government was ready to cooperate with him, but the Chief Minister did not even attend a high-level meeting held on the national situation.

Responding to a question about the inquiry into the May 9 incidents, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting said that an inquiry is needed only where there is ambiguity.

Speaking about tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, Atta Tarar stated that Pakistan made it absolutely clear during the Istanbul talks that Afghan soil must not be used against Pakistan.

He further said that the propaganda coming from the Afghan Taliban regime was appropriately countered by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif.
