RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Major General Humaid Mohammed Abdulla Alremeithi, Commander of the United Arab Emirates Naval Forces, paid an official visit to Pakistan and called on General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Monday, according to the Pakistani military’s media wing.

During the meeting, both leaders engaged in in-depth discussions on professional matters, with a particular focus on the evolving global and regional geo-strategic environment. They underscored the importance of strengthening bilateral defence and security cooperation, especially in the maritime domain, as a cornerstone for ensuring regional peace and stability.

Major General Alremeithi expressed his appreciation for the high professional standards of the Pakistan Armed Forces, acknowledging their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and their continued contributions to regional security. His remarks reflected the UAE’s recognition of Pakistan’s role in shaping stability across the region.

Earlier, upon his arrival at the Joint Staff Headquarters, a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent presented a Guard of Honour to the visiting naval commander. The ceremonial welcome set the tone for the high-level talks between the two sides.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the discussions extended to a review of current challenges in global and regional security, with both dignitaries reaffirming the necessity of closer cooperation in defence matters. The meeting highlighted the growing significance of maritime collaboration in safeguarding peace and ensuring secure trade routes.

The visit further reinforced Pakistan’s longstanding defence ties with the United Arab Emirates. Both nations signalled a shared commitment to enhancing strategic partnership in pursuit of regional stability and security cooperation.
