Roads open for traffic after containers, blockades removed: CTO
Pakistan
Barricades removed from exit, entry points
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Police on Saturday cleared all exit and entry points of blockades and removed containers placed on different roads in the city in the wake of PTI’s protest at Minar-e-Pakistan, Dunya News reported.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Ammara Athar said all city roads opened for traffic after the removal of roadblocks.
The CTO said Eastern Bypass opened, adding traffic was moving smoothly in Shahdra, Thokar Niaz Baig, Babu Sabu and Sagiyan.
She said citizens could travel anywhere in and outside of the city after the removal of barricades.
The city roads were barricaded with containers by the police to stop PTI’s protest at Minar-e-Pakistan as the Punjab government had imposed Section 144 in the city.
The PIT wanted to take out a protest rally against price hike, and for the release of its founder and ‘independence’ of judiciary.
