LAHORE (Dunya News) - Several cities of Punjab received heavy rains coupled with gusty wind and thunderstorm on Saturday night, ending long spell of muggy weather, Dunya News reported.

It rained in Lahore, Kasur, Sialkot, Wazirabad, Sharaqpur, Muridke, Kamoke, Gogra, Sangla Hill, Jaranwala, Khushab, Jauharabad, Jhelum and Dina.

With the downpour, low-lying areas came under water, causing inconvenience for people.

Heavy shower and gusty wind disrupted power supply in dozens of areas. In Lahore, traffic came to standstill after the rain.

On Canal Road, a tree was uprooted with strong wind, causing traffic chaos. Long lines of traffic were witnessed on the road. Wardens restored the traffic after removing the tall tree.

Pre-winter rain gave a sigh of relief to people who were experiencing humid weather since the end of monsoon season.

Weather turned pleasant, people are hoping for the arrival of winter soon after the shower.
