PPP, PML-N agree to use all options to overthrow govt
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif said on Saturday that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) have agreed to use all options to overthrow government.
Talking to media after meeting with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former President Asif Ali Zardari, Shehbaz Sharif said that the present government has failed to take the Kashmir cause forward, no progress has been made even in the OIC meeting. He said the heart of Kashmiri elders, brothers and sisters beat towards Pakistan and we assure them that the children of Pakistan will stand by them till they get the right of self-determination. “We will provide them all kinds of political and social support more than before.”
He said that terrorism has re-emerged, adding that the soldiers sacrificed their lives to eliminate terrorists. He said Zarb-e-Momin started during the PPP era, while Operations of Zarb-e-Azb and Raad-ul-Fasaad were started during Nawaz Sharif s tenure but it is unfortunate that during PTI during its three-year rule couldn’t implement National Action Plan.
“Like every sector, the present government has failed in terms of terrorism,” the PML-N president said.
Opposition united
On the other hand, Pakistan Peoples’ Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the opposition is united and will do everything constitutionally and legally possible to dislodge Imran Khan.
He said that in today’s meeting, both parties shared their plans to dislodge the PTI government.
The PPP chairman said that the PML-N is going to consult on our suggestions very soon, adding that the government has made the lives of the people hell through historic poverty, inflation and unemployment.
Regarding the Kashmir issue, Bilawal said that the government has failed to form consensus on the Kashmir cause. He expressed his concerns over the increasing incidents of terror in the country, especially Balochistan.
“The government’s incapacity to deal with terrorism is very apparent,” he said and added it is natural that the government will be threatened with the unity in the opposition parties.
The PPP chairman also appreciated Shehbaz Sharif’s efforts to keep the opposition’s unity intact in the National Assembly.
He went on to say that the government could be dislodged by bringing a no-confidence motion, adding that the PPP is clear on the no-confidence and the PML-N is also trying to make a consensus on this issue. “It is the demand of the people and in the interest of the nation that Imran Khan is sent home,” he added.
To a question, Bilawal said the PML-N has welcomed our long march and the PPP has done the same on their long march, adding the more the coordination between the two parties, the better and we are united against Imran Khan.
Vice President PML-N, Maryam Nawaz, Opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly, Hamza Shahbaz, the Political Secretary to the former President, Rukhsana Bangash, PPP Parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly Hasan Murtaza, Khwaja Saad Rafiq and Maryam Aurangzeb were also present in the lunch hosted by Shahbaz Sharif.
