Foreign Minister said dispersing peaceful protests with force is a denial of democratic rights.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says the Karachi incident has exposed the fake champions of democracy.
He was talking to different leaders of MQM-P including Minister for Information Technology Syed Amin-ul-Haque and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, on telephone on Thursday.
The Foreign Minister said dispersing peaceful protests with force and shelling is a denial of democratic rights.
He said Sindh s Local Government Law has been rejected by all parties including PMl-N. Being the Vice Chairman of PTI, the Foreign Minister called for changing the Sindh s Local Government Law on priority basis.
It merits mention that MQM-P joint organiser succumbed to wounds after police used force and baton-charged demonstrators in order to disperse protesters from outside Sindh CM House in Karachi on Wednesday.
The MQM workers had staged a sit-in protest in front of the Sindh CM House against the Sindh local government act. Due to the sit-in, the traffic system was badly disrupted and the citizens faced severe difficulties.
