Charlie Dean has made a jump into the top 10 in the latest Women's ODI bowling rankings
(Web Desk) - Spin-bowling all-rounder Charlie Dean has made a jump into the top 10 in the latest Women's ODI bowling rankings following strong performances for England in their two victories over New Zealand on home soil.
The 23-year-old off-spinner claimed 4/38 (9) and Player of the Match honours on the way to a nine-wicket win at Chester-le-Street, before 2/35 (10) at Worcester in an eight-wicket victory in match two.
The six wickets meant Dean jumped nine places to 7th on the bowling rankings (614 rating points), her highest career position.
Dean joins Sophie Ecclestone (first) and Kate Cross (second) as England players in the top ten, with the pair solidifying their positions with exemplary performances of their own.
After a solid outing of 2/28 (7) in match one, Ecclestone kicked on with a five-wicket haul in match two, finishing with 5/25 (9), a spell that included 39 dot balls. The stretch moved her further ahead at the top with a rating of 802 (a career-high), with Cross (683 rating points) edging past Australian Megan Schutt (682).
Dean's efforts also led to a five-spot jump in the all-rounder rankings, moving to 11th (206). Above her, compatriot Nat Sciver-Brunt (up one spot to second, 401 points) made ground on No.1 Marizanne Kapp (405).
Sciver-Brunt (770) holds her No.1 spot in the batting rankings, while there was a 33-place jump for Maia Bouchier, who has made 67 and 100* in consecutive outings.
