LAHORE (Dunya News) – An anti-corruption court has approved a one-day exemption request from former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in a case related to illegal appointments.

Judge Javed Iqbal Waraich conducted hearing in the case while the other accused, including Muhammad Khan Bhatti, appeared before the court for proceedings.

During the hearing, Pervez Elahi's lawyer submitted the exemption plea, citing his ill health. The lawyer argued that Elahi's doctor had advised him to rest. After considering the medical grounds, the court granted the requested exemption.

The court also heard arguments on the acquittal applications of other co-accused and adjourned the case until December 16 for further proceedings.

The anti-corruption department has filed a charge sheet against Parvez Elahi and other accused individuals in the case concerning alleged illegal appointments.
