Three holidays announced in KP schools

HARIPUR (Dunya News) - The district administration of Haripur in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced a three-day school holiday ahead of by-election in the district.
According to notification the holidays will be observed on November 22, 23, and 24 to ensure smooth conduct of NA-18 by-election. All educational institutions will remain closed during electoral activities to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure a peaceful environment for voters, notification read.
Meanwhile, across Pakistan, educational activities are picking up pace as the winter holidays and exam season begin. In the cold regions of Balochistan, government schools are scheduled to close for a two-and-a-half-month winter break starting December 16. In Chaman, annual exams for classes 1 to 7 are underway from November 16 to 24, while board exams for class 8 will commence on November 24.

In Punjab, the winter holidays are scheduled from December 23, 2025, to January 11, 2026, with schools reopening on January 13, 2026.
It is also speculated that schools in Punjab may close earlier for winter holidays due to smog, but provincial authorities clarified that no such decision has been made at this time.
