ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan has extended its airspace ban on India until December 23, the Pakistan Airports Authority announced through a new NOTAM.

The ban applies to all Indian passenger and military flights. Pakistan initially imposed the restriction on Indian aircraft on April 23, 2025.

The closure of Pakistan’s airspace has reportedly caused Indian airlines to suffer losses amounting to billions of rupees.

As per the latest update, the ban covers all India-registered, owned, operated, or leased aircraft – including military planes.

This means Indian airline and operators are not allowed to fly through Pakistani airspace.

The move comes as a tit-for-tat response after India barred Pakistani flights following the Pehalgam attack.

Tension between the two neighbours has been running high ever since.

There are no signs of backing down, both sides seem to be digging in their heels, leaving the aviation industry to bear the brunt.
