The Punjab Home Secretary has enforced Section 144 in Attock for three months, specifically banning unauthorised excavation of minerals, including gold, around the Indus River.
According to the notification, the transportation of mining equipment and machinery in the areas surrounding the Indus River is also prohibited for the next three months.
