Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that the PTI's desire to stage a protest at D-Chowk would not be materialised.

Speaking to the media at D-Chowk, Naqvi said that he had requested yesterday that no protests be held. He said that the government wanted to convey to foreign guests that they were visiting a peaceful country.

The interior minister mentioned that none of his police officers were armed and, if any shots were fired, they would identify the source. He pointed out that videos showed people coming with weapons, but the government's strategy would not be disclosed in advance.

He further mentioned that 63 Afghans had been arrested so far, noting that Afghan nationals were also detained during the previous protest.
