The trailer for Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan’s romantic film ‘Neelofar’ is out, ahead of its cinema release on 28 November.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The long wait for cinema lovers is finally over as the trailer for the highly anticipated romantic film Neelofar, starring Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, has been released.
The film is scheduled to hit theatres on 28 November, featuring Pakistan’s most beloved on-screen duo in lead roles.
Alongside them, the cast includes acclaimed actors Behroze Sabzwari, Atiqa Odho, Sarwat Gilani, and Madiha Imam. The story is written and directed by Ammar Rasool, while Oasaf Sharq has produced the film. Fawad Khan and Hassan Khalid are also involved as executive producers.
In Neelofar, Fawad Khan portrays Mansoor Ali Khan, a writer, while Mahira Khan plays the titular role of Neelofar, a visually impaired yet radiant young woman whose personality and spiritual allure drive the narrative. The recently released trailer highlights a meeting that sparks a new story, showing Fawad Khan’s character as subtly different from the usual popular figure, suggesting that he is not immediately liked by everyone.
The trailer also hints at the film’s deeper layers, with Neelofar commenting on her interaction with Fawad Khan, indicating that the story goes beyond the literal meaning of blindness to explore emotional and philosophical dimensions.
Speaking to the media, Mahira Khan shared that she spent time with visually impaired girls to bring authenticity to her role. She said, “Whatever character I portray on screen, I do it with my heart. In Neelofar, I am playing a blind girl for the first time, and I am thrilled to have two films releasing in a single year for the first time.”
The actress also reflected on her career, mentioning her work with leading South Asian actors including Shah Rukh Khan, Fawad Khan, Fahad Mustafa, and Humayun Saeed. She expressed concern about the state of Karachi, urging authorities to take notice of the city’s challenges while praising the warmth and resilience of its people. Mahira described Karachi as her birthplace and a city she deeply loves, noting the cultural inclusivity she has experienced, from celebrating Holi to Diwali, in the city.
