Sources indicated that the team management advocated for star batsman Babar Azam to remain in the squad, arguing that his experience was vital and he only needed one good innings to regain form.
They believed the team should support Babar to help him play a significant innings.
Conversely, most members of the selection committee favored making changes to the team, suggesting that Babar Azam, having played for a long time, should be given a rest.
PCB sources have reported that both the captain and coach have agreed to include Nauman Ali in place of Abrar Ahmed in the team.
Additionally, the new selection committee has presented an initial report to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi regarding their discussions, including their stance on resting senior players.
