Cricket, music stars to illuminate World Cup opening ceremony on Oct 4

The opening ceremony of the cricket's mega event will take place on October 4

NEW DELHI (Dunya News) – Indian music legends will enthrall the audience at the opening ceremony of the ICC World Cup 2023 on Oct 4 - a day before the marquee event begins. 

The Indian legends including Asha Bhosle, Shreya Ghoshal and Arjit Singh will mesmerise the cricket lovers at the launching ceremony where Indian actor Ranveer Singh will also perform.

The opening ceremony of the World Cup will take place at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, Ahmedabad amid fireworks display. Officials of the International Cricket Council, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and captains of all teams will also attend the ceremony.

The first match of the event will be played between New Zealand and England on Oct 5 and the Pakistani team will play its first match against the Netherlands on Oct 6.

The high-powered clash between Pakistan and India will be on Oct 14 in Ahmedabad.
