WASHINGTON (Dunya News) - A previously recorded interview of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein has resurfaced, in which he claimed that he had donated money to polio eradication campaigns in Pakistan and India.

Epstein, who was widely known for his involvement in child sexual abuse and human trafficking cases, made the claim during an interview conducted at an undisclosed time and location. In the interview, Epstein is heard acknowledging himself as a sexual predator.

During the conversation, the interviewer asked Epstein whether he was “the devil,” to which he responded that he did not have an answer but questioned why such a question was being asked. The interviewer replied that Epstein possessed all the traits associated with the devil. Epstein denied this, saying he was not the devil and that he feared the devil himself.

British media outlets have suggested that the interview may have been conducted by Steve Bannon, former chief strategist to Donald Trump, during Trump’s first term as US president.

When questioned about the legitimacy of his wealth, Epstein denied that it was illegally obtained. The interviewer countered by stating that Epstein had accumulated his fortune by advising some of the world’s worst individuals who committed serious crimes. Epstein responded by saying that morality has always been a complex subject.

Epstein further claimed that he had donated funds for polio eradication efforts in both Pakistan and India. He argued that instead of questioning whether such money should be accepted, people should ask the mothers whose children received vaccinations and were protected from polio whether he should have made those donations.

In a follow-up exchange, the interviewer asked Epstein, as a mathematician, what percentage of poor and sick people would refuse money if told it came from a criminal. Epstein replied that everyone would say they needed the money for their children.

Despite Epstein’s claims, it remains unclear whether he actually donated funds to Pakistan’s polio eradication campaign, and if so, during which government’s tenure, through whom the money was channeled, and by what means. No official confirmation of such funding has so far been established.
