LONDON (Web Desk) - Climate experts affiliated with a London university have revealed after research that over the next 40 to 50 years, winter seasons in most countries may shrink to just one and a half to two months.

According to researchers, rising global temperatures are increasing four times faster in the Arctic and Antarctic regions compared to the rest of the world.

They said the strength of polar cold winds moving toward the equator—responsible for bringing winter to countries including Pakistan—has weakened. As a result, summer durations are increasing while winter periods are shortening in Pakistan and many other countries.

Experts warned that in the future, summer could last seven to eight months. These seasonal changes are expected to have the most significant positive or negative impacts on global food systems.
