ISTANBUL (Web Desk) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused Israel of repeatedly violating the Gaza ceasefire by making “baseless excuses.”

Addressing a ceremony in Istanbul, Erdogan said that despite Israeli provocations, Hamas continues to uphold the ceasefire. He added that Turkey is making every possible effort to sustain the truce, ensure lasting peace, and deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The Turkish president reaffirmed that Ankara will continue defending the two-state solution until a free and sovereign State of Palestine is established.

Erdogan stated that more than 16,500 students, 830 teachers and education staff, 193 scientists and academics, and over 270 journalists have been killed in Gaza. He added that more than 785,000 students have been deprived of their right to education due to the ongoing conflict.
