(Web Desk) - A delegation of the Islamic Emirate under the presidency of the acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Amir Khan Muttaqi has left Kabul for Tehran last Saturday to meet with the country’s officials.
The foreign minister has met Ahmad Massoud, leader of the Resistance Front, and Ismail Khan, the former governor of Herat province to discuss a range of issues.
Mohammad Naeem, a spokesman for the Islamic Emirate’s Qatar-based office, has posted a video of the Afghan foreign minister. In the video Muttaqi has stated that, in the meeting with Ahmad Massoud, Commander Ismail Khan and other Afghans he has asked them to return to the country, along with assurance of a safe and easy life.
“Yes, we met with Ahmad Massoud, Commander Ismail Khan and other Afghans. We assured all of them that they can come back and live an unworried life,” Muttaqi said.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad, deputy spokesman for the foreign minister stated that, “In this visit, political, economic, transit issues as well as (Afghan) refugees will be discussed between the two sides,”
