BAHRAIN (Web Desk) - Pakistan’s snooker king, Muhammad Asif, has claimed another world title by defeating his Indian opponent in the IBSF (International Billiards and Snooker Federation) World Masters Snooker Championship final.
The final of the IBSF World Masters Snooker Championship, held in Bahrain, saw Muhammad Asif beat India’s Brijesh Damani with a score of 4-3.
The Pakistan-India clash in the World Masters final was highly intense. Both players delivered a thrilling contest in every frame.
After taking a two-frame lead, Asif’s opponent Brijesh Damani won three consecutive frames. However, Asif made a comeback from a 2-3 deficit, leveling the score and winning the decisive frame.

President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday extended his heartfelt congratulations to Muhammad Asif for winning the 2025 World Snooker Championship. The president said Muhammad Asif made the entire nation proud with his outstanding performance.
His triumph in an international event was a clear manifestation to the talent, determination, and hard work of Pakistani athletes, he added.
Asif proved his dominating class by edging India’s Brijesh Damani 4-3 in a tense final to win the IBSF World Masters Snooker Championship, President Secretariat Press Wing said in a press release.
The president also praised Muhammad Asif’s dedication, courage, and professional excellence. He opined that Muhammad Asif, with his victory, proved that Pakistani athletes were no less than others at the global stage, in terms of possession of capabilities.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Hasnain Akhtar won the Under-17 title at the World Snooker Championship held in Bahrain, delivering a standout performance on the global stage.
According to international media reports, Hasnain defeated Wales’ Riley Powell in the final with a commanding score of 4-0, not dropping a single frame throughout the match. His consistent play and tactical precision secured him the title in emphatic fashion.
Just a day earlier, Hasnain had advanced to the final after defeating Poland’s Oliwier Nezalek by the same 4-0 margin in the semifinal.
The young Pakistani cueist’s back-to-back clean sweeps underscore his remarkable talent and potential in the sport. His victory is being hailed as a proud moment for Pakistan in the international snooker arena.
