ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani arrived in Islamabad on a two-day visit accompanied by a high-level delegation.
Al-Shaibani met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, during which the two sides reaffirmed the deep and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Syria.
The two foreign ministers discussed ways to further expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest and expressed their resolve to maintain close coordination. They also held detailed discussions on the regional situation.
Ishaq Dar warmly received his Syrian counterpart upon his arrival at the Foreign Office.

Dar had invited the Syrian foreign minister to visit Pakistan. During the visit, the two sides are expected to discuss all aspects of bilateral relations in detail.
According to the Foreign Office, the talks will also focus on opportunities to further enhance mutual cooperation, as well as regional and international developments.
The Foreign Office spokesperson said the visit was an important step towards further strengthening relations between Pakistan and Syria.
The visit is particularly significant as it marks the first visit to Pakistan by a senior Syrian official since 2007, when then-Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem visited the country.
