118 electrocuted in one year across power distribution regions

NEPRA report 2024–25 reveals 118 deaths in power distribution areas nationwide. K-Electric recorded highest fatalities at 24, while QESCO reported the lowest with 2 deaths
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - A total of 118 deaths were reported over the course of one year in areas operated by electricity distribution companies, according to a report issued by National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for the fiscal year 2024–25.
The report states that the highest number of fatalities was recorded in areas managed by K-Electric, where 24 citizens lost their lives during the year.
Nepra issues new rules for solar net metering consumers
In regions under the supervision of Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), 22 people were reported dead.
According to NEPRA’s findings, the lowest number of fatalities was reported in areas operated by Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), where two deaths occurred.
