KARACHI (Dunya News) - Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon on Friday criticized the Governor House for being used for partisan speeches.

Speaking in the Sindh Assembly, he expressed regret over the choice of words and ideas at a ceremony held at the Governor House in Karachi a few days ago. He said the speakers at this event delivered hateful and linguistically biased speeches, which he condemned in the strongest terms.

Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized that Karachi has endured bitter experiences of hatred, prejudice, and linguistic tension in the past, and similar speeches have previously caused severe and irreparable damage to the city. Making such statements under these circumstances could pose a serious threat to the city’s peace.

He further noted that it is unfortunate that, in addition to hateful and biased remarks, some state institutions were criticized inappropriately. Such discussions in a constitutional and prestigious institution like the Governor House are neither appropriate nor safe for the dignity of the institutions or civic harmony.

Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon said that occupying such platforms and delivering biased messages is effectively an attempt to revive an environment that Karachi has already suffered from. He stressed that there should be no space for this style of expression.
