QUETTA  (Dunya News) - More than 100 leaders of the Grand Alliance have been released from Quetta and Machh jails following successful negotiations between the provincial government and the alliance.

Among those freed is senior Grand Alliance leader Quddus Kakar. According to sources, the leaders were arrested on January 20 and 21 during various protest activities across Quetta and other districts of Balochistan and were later shifted to Quetta and Machh prisons.

As part of the agreement reached during talks, the Grand Alliance also withdrew its call to boycott the middle standard examinations.

Supporters and family members expressed relief and satisfaction over the release of the detained leaders.

Government officials said resolving issues through dialogue is a positive development and emphasized that negotiations will continue to be the preferred approach for addressing future disputes.
