A fire erupted at a mobile market near Karachi’s Saddar area, spreading from a parked vehicle, as firefighters battled flames and police ordered evacuations to secure the area.

KARACHI (Dunay News) – A fire broke out Monday evening at a mobile phone market near the Saddar area of Karachi, prompting an emergency response from fire and rescue services.

Officials from the KMC Fire Brigade said four fire tenders were dispatched to the scene, while a snorkel truck was also called in to help contain the blaze.

Rescue sources said the fire started in a parked vehicle on the second-floor parking area of the Al-Najeebi Market and quickly spread to nearby vehicles. The flames later reached the building’s seventh-floor parking level.

Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho directed the South district SSP and traffic police to secure the affected building and surrounding areas, ensuring clear access for ambulances, firefighters, and rescue teams.

Market association representatives said several people were feared trapped inside the building as operations continued to bring the fire under control.
