RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Security forces have completed a large-scale counter-terrorism operation across Balochistan following a series of coordinated attacks targeting multiple districts, killing civilians and security personnel, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The operation, conducted over two days, resulted in the deaths of 133 terrorists, including suicide bombers, while 15 security personnel were martyred during intense engagements.

According to the military’s media wing, terrorists affiliated with the Indian-sponsored group Fitna al Hindustan carried out attacks in Quetta, Mastung, Nushki, Dalbandin, Kharan, Panjgur, Tump, Gwadar and Pasni. The assaults were aimed at destabilising peace in the province and undermining development by targeting law enforcement agencies and innocent civilians.

ISPR stated that the attackers acted on the instructions of handlers operating from outside Pakistan, carrying out coordinated acts intended to disrupt daily life in Balochistan. In Gwadar and Kharan districts, terrorists deliberately targeted civilians, killing 18 people. Those martyred included women, children, elderly individuals and labourers.

Security forces and law enforcement agencies responded immediately to the attacks, launching coordinated clearance and sanitisation operations across the affected areas. The forces engaged the militants during prolonged and intense encounters, successfully preventing further loss of civilian life and damage to public infrastructure.

During these operations, 92 terrorists, including three suicide bombers, were killed in engagements in Awaran and adjoining areas. Earlier, on January 30, separate operations in Panjgur and Harnai resulted in the deaths of 41 militants linked to Fitna al Hindustan and Fitna al Khwarij. With these actions, the total number of terrorists killed in Balochistan over the past two days rose to 133.

ISPR confirmed that 15 security personnel embraced martyrdom while confronting terrorists during clearance operations and direct standoffs. The personnel were described as having displayed courage and professionalism while responding to multiple threats across the province.

Following the conclusion of the main operations, security forces conducted area clean-up activities in several districts to restore normalcy. Sanitisation operations remain underway to eliminate any remaining militants or facilitators in the region.

Intelligence reports have confirmed that the attacks were orchestrated by terrorist ring leaders based outside Pakistan, who remained in direct communication with the attackers throughout the incidents. ISPR said those involved, including instigators, facilitators and abettors, would be identified and brought to justice.

The military added that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies continue their counter-terrorism campaign under the national vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, aimed at eradicating foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
