LAHORE (Dunya News) - A 10-year-old boy was seriously injured after being struck by a kite string in Lahore’s Valencia Town.

The incident occurred yesterday evening around 5pm when the kite string slashed the neck of a child named Mustafa Afandi.

The injured child was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital where he was provided prompt medical treatment.

According to hospital administration, the child’s condition is now out of danger and he was discharged later the same evening after receiving medical care.

Taking strict notice of the incident, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran ordered identification of the responsible kite flyers with the help of Safe City cameras.

He issued clear instructions that those involved would be brought to justice.

The DIG Operations further directed authorities to intensify the crackdown against illegal kite flying across the city, stating that kite flying is completely banned except on officially permitted days.

Faisal Kamran said violation of the Kite Flying Act is a life-threatening crime and a zero-tolerance policy is being strictly enforced
