KARACHI (Dunya News) - Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, on Wednesday rejected government’s decision to join US-initiated 'Board of Peace', Dunya News reported.

In a message posted on the social media platform 'X', formerly known as Twitter, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman stated that US President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace is a new form of the colonial system.

He said that the Board of Peace includes criminals such as Tony Blair, who was responsible for the destruction of Iraq. He was of the view that the Board of Peace is a new system aimed at occupying the resources and lands of Palestinians.

He said that American control over Gaza in the name of reconstruction is unacceptable, saying that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ stance that Pakistan announced support for the Gaza peace plan under a UN Security Council resolution is contrary to the facts.

Hafiz Naeem further said that Trump himself has stated that his Board of Peace could one day replace the United Nations. After such a statement by US President, what justification is there for Pakistan’s participation in the Board of Peace? He reiterated clearly that Pakistan’s army should under no circumstances go to Gaza.
