Female university student recovering fast after suicide bid

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The female student who attempted suicide by jumping from the building of a private university in Lahore is recovering fast after she regained consciousness, Dunya News reported on Friday.

The student is currently under treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Lahore General Hospital.

The medical board has declared the patient’s condition to be significantly improved and stable. Surgery on the student’s spinal vertebrae is expected on Monday morning. A team of senior doctors and psychologists is overseeing her physical and mental recovery.

According to Medical Board Chairman Professor Jowdat Saleem, the student has been breathing without a ventilator or oxygen support for the past two days. He said that the student has spoken to her parents and medical staff since regaining consciousness.
