QUETTA (Dunya News) - As many as 707 terrorists were eliminated in 78,000 Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) carried out in Balochistan in 2025.

It was stated by Balochistan’s Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Home Hamza Shafqat, while addressing a press conference in Quetta on Sunday.

He added that 202 personnel of the security forces were martyred in these operations, while 280 civilians also lost their lives.

He said that three terrorists were arrested during an operation in Kharan.

Compared to last year, attacks on security forces have decreased due to improved strategy and better operational planning, he said.

The ACS (Home) noted that terrorists have increasingly begun targeting civilians.

He described the designation of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) as a terrorist organization by the United States as the biggest achievement of the year.

He further said that actions would be taken through Interpol against those involved in carrying out terrorist activities against Pakistan while operating from abroad.

Speaking on the occasion, DIG Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Aitzaz Goraya said that the SHO of Kharan was martyred in October.

He said that terrorists attempted to abduct the SHO, but shot him dead when he resisted.

DIG Goraya added that the terrorists wanted to kidnap the SHO for propaganda purposes, and operations are ongoing to arrest the remaining members of the terrorist group involved.
