The Passport Department has introduced a new online verification system that resolves long-standing issues related to fingerprint authentication for online applicants
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The Passport Department has rolled out a new online verification system, finally fixing the technical problem that had been causing headaches for thousands of online passport applicants. The upgrade will allow users to verify their fingerprints easily through NADRA’s Pak-ID app, making the process smoother and more user-friendly.
Officials said that if applicants still face issues with fingerprint matching, a facial verification option will also be available – a move expected to take a load off those who struggled with the old system.
According to DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi, overseas Pakistanis had been raising complaints about failed fingerprint verification for quite some time.
With the new system in place, both overseas Pakistanis and senior citizens are expected to breathe a sigh of relief.
Qazi added that the department is pulling out all the stops to introduce modern facilities and make things easier for the public.
