Minister expressed deep concern over past political and institutional actions, praying that the country is spared further hardship.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that the nation will continue to face the consequences of decisions made during former ISI Chief General Faiz Hameed and former Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa’s tenure.
Defence Minister said that “the country will reap for years the crop grown from the seeds Faiz and Bajwa planted.”
Minister expressed deep concern over past political and institutional actions, praying that the country is spared further hardship. “May Allah forgive us. May He grant us the wisdom to use power and authority as a blessing for His creation,” he said. “Fear of God should be the guiding principle for all rulers.”
His remarks come after former Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed was sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment. The sentence, effective from December 11, 2025, follows a 15-month-long Field General Court Martial (FGCM) process conducted under the Pakistan Army Act. The trial examined four charges against the former senior military officer.
