LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that taking concrete steps against corruption is among the top priorities of the government.

In her message on International Anti-Corruption Day, Maryam Nawaz said that corruption is not only a crime but also a social, economic and societal injustice. She stated that from day one, the government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, as it spreads unrest and hopelessness in society.

She noted that transparency in government affairs, eliminating corruption, and improving service delivery have enhanced Pakistan’s global image.

The KPI system, she added, has made government officers more efficient and active, resulting in improved public services.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized that corruption is not just moral decay—it is the enemy of national progress. It harms national resources and shakes public trust.

She said that today is a reminder to renew the commitment to move forward with sincerity and honesty to eradicate corruption completely, adding that taking firm measures against financial misconduct remains a core priority of the government.
