ATC extends interim bail of PTI leaders in May 9 cases

LAHORE (Dunya News) – An anti-terrorism court in Lahore on Friday extended the interim bail of several PTI leaders in six May 9-related cases, including the burning of the PML-N office and setting fire to a container at Kalma Chowk.

Judge Arshad Javed heard the interim bail petitions of former PTI leaders and workers, extending their bail until January 16.

The accused appeared before the court as their bail period expired. Those who appeared included Azam Khan Swati and others. PTI leaders Hafiz Farhat Abbas, Karamat Khokhar, and Hafiz Zeeshan also appeared to seek extensions in their interim bail.

JIT investigation officers submitted their report, in which Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, and other accused were declared culpable.

Azam Khan Swati, Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, Musarrat Jamshed Cheema, Hafiz Farhat Abbas, Bilal Ejaz, Rai Hassan Nawaz, Ali Imtiaz Warraich, Muhammad Ahmad Chattha, Muhammad Ashraf Sohna, Rai Murtaza Iqbal, and others have also filed interim bail petitions.

The accused have sought interim bail in cases related to the burning of the PML-N office, the Kalma Chowk container incident, and other May 9 cases.
