ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former prime minister Imran Khan has approached the Islamabad High Court seeking permission for a medical examination by doctors from Shaukat Khanum Hospital.

The petition was filed through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.

According to the petition, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) – who has been imprisoned in Adiala Jail – is facing certain health issues and claims he was sentenced on the instructions of the current government as part of political victimisation.

The plea requests the court to allow medical facilities and examination by specialists from Shaukat Khanum Hospital in order to fulfil the requirements of justice.
