ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has declared Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Omar Ayub and Zartaj Gul as proclaimed offenders in the Sangjani Jalsa case.

The decision was announced by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra during the case hearing on Wednesday.

The court not only declared both PTI leaders proclaimed offenders but also ordered the confiscation of their properties in accordance with legal procedures. The ruling came after repeated summons and failure of the accused to appear before the court.

Meanwhile, the court approved exemption-from-attendance applications submitted by PTI members Zain Qureshi, Ali Bukhari, Sher Afzal Marwat, and Shoaib Shaheen. These applications were accepted after the court reviewed the reasons provided by the defense.

Following the orders, the court adjourned further proceedings of the Sangjani Jalsa case until December 20.

The case stems from an FIR registered at the Sangjani Police Station against several PTI leaders and workers in connection with a political gathering that authorities allege involved violations of the law. The prosecution maintains that the accused individuals failed to comply with legal obligations and court summons, prompting the ATC to take stricter measures.

The declaration of Omar Ayub and Zartaj Gul as proclaimed offenders marks a significant development in the ongoing legal proceedings against PTI members, as the party continues to face multiple cases following political unrest in recent years.
