GILGIT-BALTISTAN (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming provincial elections.
According to the notification, polling for the GB elections will be held on January 24, 2026.
Prospective candidates can submit their nomination papers from December 3 to 8, 2025, while the initial list of candidates will be published on December 9. The scrutiny of nomination papers is scheduled to be completed by December 16, ensuring all applications are properly verified.
The last date for filing objections against candidates has been fixed for December 20, 2025, and decisions on these objections will be announced on December 27. The final list of candidates will be issued on December 28, 2025.
Candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nominations on December 29, and election symbols will be allotted to all contestants on December 30, 2025, ahead of the January 24 polling day.
