Islamabad, Rawalpindi admins impose Section 144 amid security concerns

Islamabad and Rawalpindi DCs imposed Section 144, banning all gatherings from December 1–3 due to security concerns, with law enforcement on high alert and violations subject to legal action.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Section 144 has been imposed in the federal capital Islamabad and Rawalpindi due to security concerns, restricting all forms of gatherings and protests.
According to the Islamabad district administration, Section 144 strictly prohibits any protest, rally or public gathering. Any illegal activity will prompt immediate legal action.
Meanwhile, Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner Hassan Waqar Cheema enforced Section 144 across the district. As per the notification, the restriction will remain in place from December 1 to 3, during which all kinds of gatherings, rallies and processions will be banned.
PTI announces protest outside Adiala Jail next week
The district administration stated that police and other law enforcement agencies have been placed on high alert, and all institutions will coordinate to maintain law and order. Violations of Section 144 will result in legal proceedings.
Just a day earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi had announced a protest outside the Islamabad High Court — and later outside Adiala Jail — after not being allowed to meet Imran Khan.
