According to police sources, a special security plan has been issued for additional security around the Adiala Jail which will remain in effect for an indefinite period.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News): The security around the Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail has been put on high alert due to prevailing law and order situation, Dunya News reported on Friday.

According to police sources, a special security plan has been issued for additional security around the Adiala Jail which will remain in effect for an indefinite period. Five additional checkpoints have been set up on the Adiala Jail Road.

Sources say additional personnel will be deployed at Dahgal checkpoint, Gate 1, Gate 5, Factory Naka, and Gorakhpur. The duty of police officers and personnel has been divided into two 12-hour shifts. SHOs from 12 police stations and female police officers will also remain deployed.

Overall, more than 700 officers and personnel will remain deployed for the external security of Adiala Jail. The security staff will be equipped with anti-riot gear, and the Adiala Guards force will be kept on standby. SP Saddar Anum Sher will directly supervise the duties.

It is worth noting that Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi has threatened to disrupt parliamentary proceedings if he is not allowed to meet the PTI founder Imran Khan, and has also announced a protest in front of the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday.
