LAHORE (Dunya News) - Former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on Tuesday said that people boycotted the recently-held by-elections on six National Assembly and seven Punjab Assembly seats.

Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said that despite repeated announcements, people did not come out to vote. He said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has become accustomed to contesting elections without voters.

Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said that I am standing with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in challenging times. He said that there are 27 to 28 cases against me.

He further said that the PTI founder Imran Khan has been in jail for more than two years, and he is not worried, nor should anyone else be. He remains a dominant figure in Pakistani politics despite his imprisonment, he said.
