ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - PML-N leader and Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the PTI should file a case against the British magazine The Economist.

Bushra Bibi exerted significant influence over critical government decisions and high-profile appointments during the tenure of Imran Khan as prime minister, according to a report published by The Economist.

Speaking on Dunya News programme "Tonight with Samar Abbas," Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said Gen Faiz and Gen Bajwa planted Bushra Bibi, adding it should also be known from where Gogi came and where she went.

If Barrister Gohar wants to go to a court against the magazine, he must go. If Barrister Gohar does not go to court, then I will go. The Economist is not an ordinary magazine.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan on Saturday announced plans for a legal action against the British media report on Bushra Bibi's political influence during Imran Khan's tenure as prime minister.

The PTI chief called the report by The Economist "provocative and based on lies", saying the purpose of the report was to defame the PTI founder and his spouse.

According to senior journalist Owen Bennett-Jones, sources close to Imran Khan’s inner circle claimed that Bushra Bibi played a substantial role in shaping governmental choices, with many alleging that her spiritual influence over Khan led to a perception that his decision-making process had been overshadowed by her guidance.
