KARACHI (Dunya News) – Three students of Dow Medical University were drowned while three other were rescued while swimming off Manora Beach in Karachi on Wednesday, Dunya News reported.
According to details, a picnic for final-year students of Dow Medical University turned into a tragedy when six students were swept away by strong waves. Rescue teams at the beach immediately launched an operation and retrieved the dead bodies of three students from the sea while three were rescued in critical condition.
Those who lost their lives were identified as Ahmed Kashif, Isharib Munir, and Ashhad, all final-year medical students.
According to the university administration, the official university picnic was organized at Hawksbay Beach with 150 students participating. However, the group of 15 students went to Manora without informing the university administration.
A university spokesperson stated that the students at the official Hawksbay picnic returned safely, while the tragic incident occurred at Manora.
