MULTAN (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday took an aerial view of Multan and Jalalpur Pirwala to see firsthand the flood-hit areas.

This was her second trip to Multan in just over a week, as she had earlier visited the city on September 3. During today’s visit, she flew over the flood-affected zones to take stock of the situation on the ground.

Meanwhile, the crisis continues to worsen as India has once again released more water into River Sutlej, while the heavy flow in River Chenab has also kept the situation in South Punjab on edge.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to leave no stone unturned in relief operations.

The NDMA has already dispatched more aid for the affected people in Punjab.

According to officials, 20 trucks loaded with relief supplies left Islamabad on Wednesday for the flood-hit districts. The goods will be handed over to the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) for distribution.
