ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan has strongly condemned recent statements by the Israeli occupying power regarding its reported intention to forcibly displace Palestinians from their land.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said such measures constitute a blatant violation of international law and represent a direct threat to peace and stability in the region.

The spokesperson described the forced relocation of Palestinians as a grave breach of human rights, stressing that the policy undermines the fundamental dignity of an already oppressed population. Islamabad reiterated its call on the international community to take urgent steps to safeguard Palestinian civilians and ensure accountability for violations committed against them.

Pakistan reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, emphasising the right of the people to self-determination and the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

According to the Foreign Office, the displacement plan and the continued expansion of illegal settlements reflect Israel’s disregard for international humanitarian norms. Pakistan warned that such practices not only perpetuate instability but also deliberately obstruct efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.

Islamabad urged global powers and multilateral institutions to raise their voices in support of Palestinians, highlighting the urgent humanitarian plight resulting from the conflict. The spokesperson noted that silence in the face of these developments risks emboldening further violations against the civilian population.

The ongoing war erupted after Hamas-led fighters killed around 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and abducted 251 individuals during an attack in southern Israel on 7 October 2023. While most of those kidnapped have since been freed through ceasefires and negotiated exchanges, Israel’s retaliatory campaign has resulted in devastating losses. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, more than 64,000 Palestinians have been killed, with women and children making up about half the reported fatalities.
