Water level in the river at Shahdara has decreased from 220,000 cusecs to 90,500 cusecs
LAHORE (Dunya News) – It is good tidings for the residents of Shahdara and its surrounding areas that water level in Ravi River is receding, giving a big relief to those who were in constant fear when the river was surging two days ago.
Dunya News has reported that the water level in the river at Shahdara has decreased from 220,000 cusecs to 90,500 cusecs and it is gradually coming down.
Two days ago, Ravi River was flowing in very high flood level in Shahdara with water level continuously increasing. Around 220,000 cusecs of water was passing in Shahdara, with expectations of further increase. Due to the serious risk of flooding in low-lying areas, a high alert was issued.
According to the Lahore Commissioner, the River Ravi has a capacity of 250,000 cusecs. All departments, including the district administration, remained fully prepared to handle any untoward situation. They safely evacuated people ahead of flood in their areas.
