JHELUM (Dunya News) - Renowned religious scholar Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza has been arrested by City Police Jhelum under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).
According to details, Mirza was taken into custody from his academy in Jhelum and later shifted to jail.
Sources revealed that the arrest followed applications submitted by various religious groups against him, while delegations of clerics also held meetings with district authorities demanding his arrest.
Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza, with 3.1 million YouTube subscribers, is known for his online lectures on social and religious issues. His outspoken style has frequently stirred controversy.
This is not his first arrest. In May 2020, Jhelum police detained him under Section 153-A of the Pakistan Penal Code after a controversial lecture resurfaced online. He was released two days later on court orders.
